Dr. LeRoy DeWitt really is a very passionate, caring chiropractor. He’s the best chiropractor I’ve met.
Hi. I’m Dallan. I’m LeRoy’s web developer. I’m also his son-in-law. I’m so lucky to have Dr. DeWitt for a father-in-law. And so I’ve created a fresh, modern site for him and I’m hoping that he might feel like the lucky one now!
LeRoy is loved by everyone that knows him and he has a very loyal, happy clientele. But he hasn’t really had a web presence nor done much to promote himself. Yet if you rewind a year, there I was, a great web developer and marketer, launching sites with my brother—the web designer—for a living, while Dr. DeWitt’s website was an eyesore.
I always wanted to build Dr. DeWitt a website that he could benefit from but that I could also be proud of. I don’t like to do things only half-heartedly. So I got started by brainstorming with my brother and my wife, Jordi, who works for Dr. DeWitt. We started mind mapping the site flow and designing the logo. But life got a little busy and stgeorgechiropractor.com was put on the back burner. Before I knew it, Jordi was telling me it would be a year in October since we started planning the new website! Whaaat?
Jordi and I just had our first child in August. A beautiful son. We’ve been excited for this day to arrive. We tried for almost three years to get pregnant and eventually found out that we needed to do in vitro fertilization. It was successful and we couldn’t be happier! But a new baby also means less free-time. It’s a bit of juggling but I’m back into my routine and excited about life! And my brother and I continue building the best sites around!
So I’ve spent a lot of late nights and long weekends this past month or so, working on this website. And now I’m proud to put my name on it. I don’t take all of the credit though. Like I mentioned, my brother and wife also worked on this site. But I have put in a lot of work sitting—and standing—at my computer. But, lucky for me, I know the best chiropractor in town! I’ve definitely gotten my share of adjustments from Dr. DeWitt over these past couple of months. And it’s kept me feeling great, even after staring at a screen for 10–12 hours a day. So the trade has been in my favor. 🙂
Now I’ll bore you with some of the technical details of this new website. When my brother and I design and build websites, we are very meticulous about every detail—whether it’s visual or user experience related. We build websites because we’re passionate about it. It’s not just a job to put bread on the table. So with the internet moving from our desks to our pockets, we have the important task of presenting a website in the best way possible, whether it’s viewed on a 4-inch screen or a 27-inch screen. Or whether the visitor is going to touch our content with their finger or click through it with a mouse. This is called responsive design and it is our forte. But it’s not enough for a website to just look good and be easy to navigate. If a site takes too long to load, a visitor will be off to a different site before it even had a chance to show its beauty. This is why I use modern, clean code. I’ll spend hours doing speed tests and tweaking my code to shave off just milliseconds of website load time.
It’s this kind of persistence that sets a great website apart from the rest. I genuinely hope you enjoy it! And, of course, I hope you give Dr. DeWitt a chance to give you the best chiropractic adjustment you’ve ever had. I didn’t say as much about Dr. DeWitt as I did about his new website, but simply put, I’m as confident in him as I am in this website.
Lastly, if you have any feedback about the website or Dr. DeWitt, I’d be happy to hear it! Whether it’s positive reinforcement, constructive criticism, or even a little of both, I’m always looking to improve and gain new perspective. Just send me an email with your thoughts!
