Shoulders: Arm Circles

Standing, one arm raised in front and circling up and over behind

Stretching should be uncomfortable yet pain-free.

Dr. DeWitt recommends these stretches to his patients. If one hurts, stop.

How

  1. Stand and slowly raise one arm in front of you as high as you can without pain.
  2. Continue the circle around behind you and back to the starting position.
  3. Do 3 to 4 circles, then 3 to 4 more going backward. Then switch arms and repeat.
